Camp Site Director

Calling all early adolescent teachers, counselors, or coaches! Do you love to guide or mentor this age group of humans?

We are looking for a Camp Site Director who is:

• high-energy

• strong in communication skills, comfortable being parent-facing

• strong with organization skills

• comfortable collaborating with and taking direction from Founder, Ashley Chandler, and co-managing Camp Coordinator

• passionate about their personal responsibility to set a positive, nurturing, engaging tone for the group

• strong in the ability to plan, facilitate, lead 25+ campers, and improvise based on the needs of the group

We are looking to hire a Camp Site Director who is a teacher, counselor, or in training (DOE). Our staff to camper ratio means this person will be leading several classes and activities and have an active hands-on role in the day-to-day operations of camp. Consider this an interactive classroom out in the community, featuring guest-speakers / presenters, field trips, skill-building, interactive games & team-building, and having a blast! We're looking for Camp Site Director who will sufficiently get to know campers, and support them in building confidence and fostering friendships with peers.  The Camp Site Director will be supreme at building strong relationships in a short amount of time.

We know there is a direct connection between the quality of our staff and the quality of the experience for our campers. This is not a typical summer camp. Our vision is this is a summer camp-meets growth seminar, and anyone we hire will see it as such. The Camp Director will oversee the social/emotional/physical well-being of every camper, along with Founder, Ashley Chandler.

We are determined to bring on the best people we can, and are looking for a person who is eager to give kids the best camp experience of their life thus far. In years past, many campers arrive not wanting to be there, and they leave with the words and feelings "This was the BEST CAMP EVER!" This person is an integral piece of this kind of reward, and we are looking for a solid, local fit of someone who would want to join us year after year, if possible.

We encourage everyone we bring on to our team to bring their own gifts and passions. Whether you love sports, theater, arts, or science - we encourage you to share them with our camp community!

As a fellow educator, Ashley designed Middle School Prep Camp to attract and support teachers and counselors in the summer months.

Middle School Prep Camp 2022 is a short-term commitment, including 2 week-long sessions:

• The week of July 18th - July 22nd

• The week of July 25th - July 29th

• Hours are 8:00 - 4:30 pm, M-F

Camp Structure:

• Each day is based at different local Boulder headquarters

• Each day features a different theme, guest speakers, and activities

• Campers get their own schedules, rotating to different classes at certain times of the day.

• The Camp Site Director will lead/facilitate (3-4) 15-minute executive function, mindset, or social-emotional classes a day, in addition to camp supervision/facilitation duties

• The curriculum is already designed, but Ashley welcomes collaboration and expertise to make it the best it can be for our campers

Additional Important Details:

• Mandatory training will be conducted between May - June 2022 (exact timing TBD, Ashley is flexible to coordinate with the right hire's schedule) 

• Early signing bonuses for returning staff

• Possible additional employment opportunities during winter and spring breaks

• Covid-19 vaccination is highly encouraged to join our team

We are looking for a Camp Coordinator who is:

• strong communication skills, comfortable being parent-facing

• strong organization skills

• strong ability to assist in the facilitation of activities, lessons, and group projects

• strong ability to take direction, and to take initiative

• strong ability to connect with and nurture all kinds of learners & personalities of campers

We are looking to hire a Camp Coordinator who is studying to be a teacher, counselor, or coach. Our staff to camper ratio means this person will assist several classes and activities and have an active hands-on role in assisting in the operations of the camp.
