Healthy tools to teach your middle schooler to feel safe in their body
In today's episode, I get the honor of speaking to K. Domiana, a retired 2x pro athlete who transitioned into a Somatic Healer for moms around the world. I wanted to bring Domiana onto the podcast for several reasons. First, and I mention this in the podcast, moms and dads of middle schoolers are going through a lot physically, too along with your kid's hormonal changes. And, second, parents you are inundated with items on your to-do list, but you have to take care of your being. You have to take care of your body...because as the book suggests, and as I say here: it's always keeping score.
We also cover self-regulation tools to come back into your body when you get triggered that are essential tools to practice yourself and model to your kids. I love this episode for so many reasons, and I think any of you listening who have an athlete at home or a kid who expresses themselves physically most of the time, like my son, will get so much out of it. As Domiana says, your body is your home, so you've got to pay attention to it.
