You and your middle schooler were made for each other
If you know me personally, you know I don't do surface very well, but there is a deeper reason why I'm horrible at surface talk, and I'm going to share that with you today.
Inside this episode, I'll share why I believe we're at a crossroads as a species - and why it's not an accident.
The pattern inside what's shared by many great wisdom traditions, and teachers I admire
And, how this all connects to the spiritual purpose of adolescence.
Truth be told, I carry around this concept all day every day. Everything has a deeper meaning, and everything I'm experiencing personally, as I'm surrounded by grief, has led me to integrate this into my professional life. It seems natural although I still feel very vulnerable sharing it with you today.
I hope you enjoy it.
Take a look at today's episode
We are at a deep crossroads as a species. Our collective stress has squeezed us to a breaking point, where important topics and uncomfortable truths are now at the surface forcing us into new awareness. This is often super uncomfortable. It's not the easiest path to become more awake or to heal, but it's oh so worth it, and our humanity requires it.
Since I'm all things middle school and adolescence on this podcast, today I'll use wisdom from some of the great spiritual teachings and traditions to demonstrate the very real spiritual purpose of adolescence and why it's no accident you're raising an adolescent at this exact moment in time. As I share the teachings from great wisdom traditions, religions, and even some hero's journey, I share them to show common threads and how they connect and paint a picture you can apply to adolescence now.
Adolescence done well is the stage of growth. It's one of the stage of development where a human goes through immense challenges ON PURPOSE, and emerges a more aware, kind, sensitive and compassionate human.
